DevOps Engineer DV Cleared - Contract (outside IR35) - 6 Months - Bristol
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join a leading organisation in the defence sector. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge systems while benefiting from a hybrid work environment. The contract is for six months, operating outside IR35, with the potential for extension. Due to the nature of the work, candidates must hold active DV clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with development teams to deploy new components into production seamlessly.
- Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and take proactive measures to ensure reliability.
- Develop and implement metrics, alerts, and automation to enhance system performance and reduce manual tasks.
- Address system alerts and incidents promptly to minimize impact on customers.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to plan system updates and gather new service requirements.
Skills & Experience Required
- Active DV clearance is essential for this role.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, or Ansible to streamline system deployments.
- Proficient in containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
- Strong background in CI/CD pipelines, with practical experience using tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- In-depth knowledge of monitoring, scaling, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Familiarity with network security protocols and principles to ensure secure system operations.
- Practical experience working in AWS environments, leveraging its tools and services effectively.
- Skilled in the use of monitoring tools such as InfluxDB, Prometheus, or Grafana to manage system performance.
