IT & Cybersecurity Manager
Reporting to: Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Location: Ireland (Hybrid – regular on-site presence at Head Office required)
Employment Type: Part-time Contractor (approx. 1–2 days per week, flexible)

Role Summary
The IT & Cybersecurity Manager will oversee Crown’s IT systems, infrastructure, and digital strategy, ensuring the business has secure, resilient, and scalable technology to support operations across Europe.
While day-to-day reactive IT support is provided by Radius IT helpdesk, this role is focused on strategic IT leadership, including cybersecurity, risk management, AI adoption, vendor oversight, compliance, KPI reporting, and continuous improvement.
The role holder must be based in Ireland to facilitate regular in-person engagement with the COO and to provide effective oversight of IT operations at Head Office. Flexibility to travel to project sites, industry events, and trade shows is required.
The Office Manager will support this role through coordination, supplier communication, and IT administration.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic IT & Digital Transformation
- Develop and implement an IT strategy aligned with Crown’s business objectives.
- Identify opportunities for system improvements, automation, and operational efficiencies.
- Support digital transformation initiatives to maintain Crown’s competitive position in a mission-critical construction environment.
- Develop and lead Crown’s AI strategy, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, project delivery, compliance, and knowledge management.
- Promote AI awareness and responsible adoption through staff education and engagement.
Vendor & Service Oversight
- Act as the primary liaison with Radius IT helpdesk and other IT service providers.
- Monitor service delivery against agreed SLAs, ensuring value for money.
- Oversee IT contracts, licences, renewals, and procurement, supported by the Office Manager.
Infrastructure & Systems
- Oversee IT infrastructure across offices and project sites in up to 10 countries.
- Ensure reliability, scalability, and integration of core systems, including ERP, project management, HR, and compliance platforms.
- Support onboarding and offboarding of staff and offices, including secure setup, decommissioning, and asset handover.
- Maintain accurate IT asset registers, software licences, and user access rights, ensuring timely deactivation during offboarding.
Cybersecurity, Risk & Compliance
- Develop, implement, and enforce IT security policies and protocols.
- Monitor and mitigate cybersecurity risks through regular risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR and other relevant data protection and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain IT onboarding and offboarding procedures covering access control, data security, and device recovery.
- Implement proactive disaster recovery and business continuity measures.
- Lead staff training and awareness programmes to reduce IT and cybersecurity risk.
- Safeguard Crown’s data, intellectual property, and systems with the highest levels of confidentiality.
- Sign and comply with a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), with sensitive IT matters discussed only with the COO and Board.
KPI Reporting, Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Define, monitor, and report on IT performance KPIs, including system uptime, helpdesk responsiveness, cybersecurity incidents, and project delivery metrics.
- Produce regular IT and cybersecurity performance reports for the Board, in collaboration with the COO.
- Present risks, insights, and recommendations clearly to senior leadership.
- Lead IT-related projects such as system upgrades, cloud migrations, and collaboration tools.
- Oversee implementation of new software and platforms, coordinating rollouts with the Office Manager.
- Encourage innovation and adoption of emerging technologies, including AI-driven solutions.
- Advise senior management on IT, cybersecurity, and AI investment decisions.
- Operate with absolute discretion, protecting Crown’s confidential and commercially sensitive information.
- Ensure IT strategy supports Crown’s growth, people, and operational excellence.
Person Specification
Essential
- Proven experience in IT and cybersecurity management, ideally within construction, engineering, or a multi-site, multi-country organisation.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, and cloud platforms (Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams).
- Experience managing vendors and outsourced IT service providers.
- Sound knowledge of cybersecurity best practice, IT risk management, and regulatory compliance (including GDPR).
- Experience developing IT policies and procedures, including onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Experience defining KPIs and producing senior leadership or Board-level reports.
- Interest and experience in AI tools, digital transformation, and staff education around emerging technologies.
- Demonstrated discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive business information, with willingness to sign and adhere to NDA requirements.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Desirable
- Experience with ERP and construction project management systems.
- Knowledge of compliance and data management within the construction sector.
- Experience supporting rapid business growth and international expansion.
Contract Details
- Part-time contractor role (approximately 1–2 days per week, flexible).
- Hybrid working arrangement with availability for on-site attendance as required.
