About the Role

This DevOps Engineer position is designed for a mid-to-senior level professional specializing in building, automating, and maintaining robust infrastructure to support the rapid growth and innovation of a PropTech organization. The role focuses on enabling seamless collaboration between software development and operations teams, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security of cloud-based platforms. The DevOps Engineer will play a pivotal role in driving automation, optimizing deployment pipelines, and supporting the digital transformation of real estate technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure using industry-standard platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, tailored to the needs of PropTech applications.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to ensure consistent and repeatable environment provisioning.
• Build, optimize, and monitor CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI) to enable rapid, reliable, and automated software delivery.
• Collaborate closely with software engineering, QA, and product teams to streamline deployment processes and resolve environment-related issues.
• Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Datadog to ensure system health and proactive incident response.
• Enforce security best practices across infrastructure and deployment workflows, including vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and compliance with relevant standards.
• Automate routine operational tasks and system maintenance to reduce manual intervention and improve efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, network, and deployment issues in both development and production environments.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning, backup strategies, and high-availability architecture design to ensure business continuity.
• Document infrastructure architecture, deployment processes, and operational runbooks for knowledge sharing and onboarding.

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong background in cloud infrastructure management and automation.
• Proficiency with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including hands-on experience with compute, storage, networking, and security services.
• Advanced skills in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible for automated environment provisioning.
• Deep understanding of CI/CD concepts and practical experience with pipeline tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
• Strong scripting abilities in languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell for automation and orchestration tasks.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, for scalable application deployment.
• Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog) to ensure system observability.
• Solid grasp of networking fundamentals, security best practices, and access control in cloud and hybrid environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and deployment issues.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience supporting high-availability, mission-critical systems, ideally within the PropTech, real estate, or SaaS sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is typically expected.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or Google Professional DevOps Engineer are highly valued.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or related roles.
• Demonstrated track record of implementing automation and improving deployment processes in production environments.
