The Chemical Business of The Aditya Birla Group has a turnover of around 3,500 crores with operations based in India, Thailand and China. There are six major product segments: Chlor-alkali, Epoxy, Fluorine chemicals, Peroxides, Phosphates and Sulphites. The products are manufactured at ten units: four in India, five in Thailand and one in China.
Epoxy Business in India has four manufacturing locations: Grasim Epoxy Division Nagda (M.P.),
The Units are ISO: 9001, ISO: 14001, OHSAS 18001 and SA 8000 certified companies. The Units have won several awards and accolades like National Award for Energy Conservation from Government of India and WCM excellence award from the Chairman of the Group.
Chlor Alkali Business is putting up Greenfield & Brownfield projects at existing unit locations and new locations in the country to sustain the leadership position in Chlor Alkali Business position and meeting the changing Business needs Plan, organise and maintain IT solutions (including SAP) to ensure uninterrupted and easy availability of information base for facilitating processing, maintenance of records/data which help in management control, decision-making and optimization of cost, time, resources for Vilayat Project Major Challenges: Implementation of IT activities in Project Timely resolution of all kinds of IT issues. To ensure 100% availability of IT Servers. Inducing users to learn, adapt to new technologies and its effective usage for their work. To keep pace with rapid technological challenges and remote location of the units.

KRA1 1.Planning & Deployment Of IT Resources
Plan the requirement of and deploy the IT resources including manpower, hardware, software and bandwidth to meet the Business requirements.
- Operations
Assess additional requirements based on previous year and current needs
Prepare and submit proposal to FH (F&C) and implement the solutions once approved
Formulate, implement and review IT plan for the ProjectEnsure smooth transfer of selected employees through Internal Recruitment System and his/her timely settlement of dues.
Put in place necessary basic infrastructure like power, air conditioning, dust-proofing, etc for the critical equipment like Servers, WAN equipment, etc
Put in place a reliable security and authorization system to eliminate damage or loss to data
Ensure regular back up of data
Keep ready a disaster recovery plan.
KRA2 3.Continuous Improvement
Identify, evaluate develop & implement new technologies (Hardware & software) and continuously improve system performance and solutions deployed to enable the Business to gain benchmark position.
- Assess the current system and network uptime and response times
- Plan action for improvements in uptime and response times
- Regularly collect information on new technologies

KRA3 4.Budget Control
Monitor and control the Dept budget to optimise operating cost.
- Prepare annual budgets for Hardware, software, consumables etc.
- Monitor purchases against budget.
- Take corrective action.
Ensure timely redressal of internal customer complaints to improve customer satisfaction.
- Modify system to incorporate user requirement.
- Monitor system regularly.
- Plan periodical user satisfaction survey.
- Make complaint handling system.
- Monitor complaint redressal time.
- Analyse & implement solutions.
Ensure implementation of systems like WCM/TPM/ISO/EMS, etc in IT Dept. through employees’ involvement for continuous improvement in various activities.
- Coordinate with other departments for various activities.

- Allocate responsibilities to various persons & periodical review of progress.
- Coordinate with internal auditors.
- Taking actions for clearing NCRs intime.
