Role Overview

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join a team dedicated to delivering data, insights, and analytics to the Global Markets Front Office.

This role sits close to the business, working directly with sales teams, traders, and business sponsors, transforming large volumes of data into high-value insights through data pipelines, analytics, dashboards, APIs, and chatbots.

You will be involved end-to-end in the data lifecycle, from data ingestion and ETL to data warehousing and visualization, using modern tools and an agile delivery approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Engineering & Pipelines:Design, develop, maintain, and support robust data pipelines, ensuring reliability and performance.
  • Data Processing & Optimization:Process and optimize large datasets using Python and SQL, applying best practices in query efficiency and memory management.
  • Business Interaction:Act as a key point of contact for the business, understanding Front Office needs and translating them into scalable data solutions.
  • Architecture & Quality:Ensure that data architectures meet business requirements and recommend improvements to deliver high-quality, value-added data.
  • Data Delivery:Deliver insights through Tableau / Power BI dashboards, APIs, and innovative solutions such as chatbots.

Required Technical Skills

  • Academic background in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields
  • Python (strong experience, especially Pandas)
  • SQL and solid experience with ETL processes
  • Data Engineering / Data Analysis professional experience
  • Data process optimization (efficient queries, memory usage)
  • Git (preferably Bitbucket)
  • Data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
  • CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins)
  • Interest or knowledge in Financial Markets is a strong plus

Languages

  • English – Fluent (mandatory)

Soft Skills

  • Enjoys programming and data challenges
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely
  • Proactive, driven, and adaptive mindset
  • Strong focus on automation, continuous improvement, and efficiency
