Senior SCADA Software Engineer
Ariad is searching for a Senior SCADA Software Engineer on behalf of one of its clients.
Context
Our client operates real‑time industrial systems that play a key role in ensuring electrical grid stability across several European countries. As the energy landscape evolves toward more flexible and low‑carbon assets, their SCADA platform must continuously adapt and remain highly reliable. You will join a team responsible for developing and maintaining this 24/7 mission‑critical system.
Role
- Develop and maintain the SCADA platform based on MicroSCADA X (SYS600).
- Contribute to both backend (SCIL) and frontend (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript).
- Apply solid architectural and clean‑code principles.
- Work closely with analysts and operations teams in an Agile/SAFe environment.
- Join the on‑call rotation after onboarding to ensure system availability.
Profile
- Master’s degree in IT, electronics, electrical engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
- Strong industrial mindset with robust software engineering skills.
- Basic understanding of power generation and grid operations.
- Proactive, structured, reliable, and solutions‑oriented.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Technical Skills
- Basic programming knowledge (SCIL training provided).
- Frontend development (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript).
- Experience with Git/GitHub and CI/CD practices.
- Awareness of ICS/OT cybersecurity requirements, including NIS2.
Practical Information
- Work location: near Brussels, Belgium (min. 3 days on‑site/week).
- Flexible working hours.
- Occasional visits to operational sites; rare short trips abroad.
- Driver’s license required.
