Role Overview
This role will have a direct reporting line to the Senior Manager, Risk Oversight.
The Risk Analyst will play a key role in second line production and reporting across Credit, Market, Liquidity and P&L, ensuring that data is accurate, transparent, and actionable. You will have opportunity to develop and maintain decomposition and attribution tools to provide insight into risk and performance drivers.
Working in a small, collaborative team, you will gain cross-training and exposure to broader financial risk oversight, including trading activities, market, credit, and liquidity risks. The role interacts closely with the front office, finance and operations, providing independent challenge and strengthening governance.
About the Team
The Risk Oversight team at NBC Global Finance is positioned at the forefront of the firm’s risk governance, working independently from but in constant interaction with the trading desk. Through daily and intraday monitoring, the team delivers timely oversight and effective challenge to risk-taking activities. Guided by a mandate to protect, value, enable sound decisions and drive resilience, we ensure that the firm’s growth ambitions remain balanced with sound governance and long-term resilience.
Main Responsibilities:
• Timely and accurate daily production of reporting across key areas of Market Risk, Credit Risk, Liquidity Risk and P&L.
• Providing independent oversight and detailed analysis of Market, Credit, Liquidity and P&L exposures and outstanding's across business strategies and trading products.
• Monitoring and reporting of risk limits across full limit hierarchy including Board approved Risk Appetite Limits, ERC Level 3 and Risk Manager Level 4 Limits, including Contingency Funding Plan and Recovery Plan Indicator monitoring and reporting.
• Escalate and report breaches, exceptions or disputes across Credit Risk, Market Risk, Liquidity Risk, CFP and RP.
• Contributing to the ongoing development and enhancement of risk oversight processes and procedures across Market, Liquidity, Credit and P&L Management
• Performing in-depth and timely reviews of risk exposures and valuations to facilitate effective steering to key stakeholders across first- and second-line functions.
Skills and Experience Required:
We encourage applications from candidates who bring a diverse set of skills, experiences, and perspectives. The ideal candidate will possess:
• 1 to 2 years+ of experience in financial risk management, Market, Credit, Liquidity P&L analysis, or related roles.
• Proficient analytical and numerical skills, with comfort in working with financial data and market analysis and ability to stay focused and complete tasks on time, during challenging or time-sensitive situations.
• Experience with systems such as Global One, MUREX, FIS Adaptiv, Axiom, QuickSight and trading strategies and products including Fixed Income, Equities, Total Return Swaps, Option Trading, Futures, Interest Rate Swaps.
• Strong understanding of trading desks, financial products, and financial markets.
• Working knowledge of legislation and published guidance applicable to risk management including CRR, CRRII, LCR Delegated Act, EBA Instructions and Q&A, and their applicability across credit, market, and liquidity reporting.
• Ability to communicate effectively and provide independent challenge in a professional manner.
• Experience in coding and programming across VBA and Python.
