About the role

We’re working with a global healthcare technology provider delivering large-scale hospital information systems and digital health platforms across public and private sector organisations.

They are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) / Health Information System (HIS) implementations. This is a client-facing leadership role, responsible for managing complex, multi-stream healthcare IT programmes from initiation through Go-Live and closure.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in digital healthcare transformation, working directly with senior stakeholders and leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver mission-critical solutions that improve patient care and operational performance.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of EMR / HIS implementations, ensuring milestones are met on time, within scope and within budget
  • Own the full project lifecycle: planning, execution, governance, Go-Live preparation, cutover and closure
  • Manage project plans, risk logs, RAID, reporting, dependencies and stakeholder communications
  • Coordinate internal delivery teams and external third parties, ensuring effective resourcing and alignment
  • Drive governance and manage customer expectations, escalations and delivery risks
  • Ensure contractual obligations are met and support commercial delivery controls
  • Build strong relationships with clinical, operational and IT stakeholders across healthcare organisations
  • Travel to client sites as required to support delivery and Go-Live activity

Required experience

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager delivering healthcare IT implementations (EMR / EPR / HIS / clinical systems)
  • Strong track record managing complex, multi-strand programmes in client environments
  • Experience delivering projects through Go-Live, including cutover planning and hypercare
  • Confident managing senior stakeholders and running structured governance meetings
  • Strong project documentation skills (plans, RAID, status reporting, actions, decisions)
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with multiple workstreams and dependencies
  • Fluent Italian and strong English communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience delivering hospital information systems or large enterprise clinical platforms
  • Exposure to interoperability, integration, or data-sharing projects within healthcare
  • Experience with fixed-price delivery, vendor management, or contract-driven programmes
  • Relevant certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/SAFe)

What’s on offer

  • Highly competitive salary package + strong benefits
  • Hybrid working (Milan-based - preferrable)
  • High-visibility role within a globally recognised digital health business
  • Opportunity to lead meaningful projects improving healthcare delivery and outcomes
  • Supportive culture with strong collaboration across international teams
