Position : Performance Management Specialist


Job Purpose

The Performance Management Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, administering, and continuously improving the company’s Performance Management Framework to ensure alignment between individual performance, organizational objectives, and business strategy. The role ensures consistency, fairness, data integrity, and effective linkage between performance outcomes, rewards, and development.


Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain the company’s Performance Management System (PMS), including goal setting, mid-year reviews, annual appraisals, probation evaluations, and PIP governance.
  • Ensure performance processes are standardized, documented, and aligned with company policies and governance standards.
  • Review and enhance tools, forms, rating scales, and competency frameworks to reflect business and project requirements.
  • Drive timely completion of all performance cycles across Head Office and projects.
  • Administer and monitor probation review processes, ensuring evaluations are completed accurately and within policy-defined timeframes.
  • Track compliance, follow up with line managers, and escalate delays or gaps where required.
  • Provide hands-on support to managers and employees on SMART objectives, KPIs, and competency-based evaluations.
  • Design, administer, and govern Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) for underperforming employees in coordination with line management and Employee Relations.
  • Coordinate performance calibration and moderation sessions to ensure consistency and fairness across departments and projects.
  • Prepare performance distribution analysis and support leadership decision-making during reviews.
  • Flag rating anomalies, risks, and inconsistencies with evidence-based recommendations.
  • Consolidate appraisal results and produce performance dashboards and reports (ratings distribution, trends, improvement areas).
  • Analyze performance data to identify capability gaps, high performers, and improvement needs.
  • Support data integration with reward, succession, and workforce planning analytics.
  • Coordinate with Compensation & Benefits to support performance-based rewards, increments, bonuses, and recognition programs.
  • Work closely with Learning & Development to translate performance outcomes into Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
  • Support succession planning inputs by identifying high-potential and critical talent based on performance data.
  • Support in training of managers on effective performance management practices, feedback conversations, and objective setting.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert for performance management policies, tools, and interpretation.
  • Support change management initiatives related to PMS digitization or process enhancement.
  • Support automation and digitization of PMS through performance platforms.
  • Ensure data accuracy, confidentiality, and audit readiness of all performance records.
  • Continuously benchmark and recommend improvements aligned with best practices and industry standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or related field
  • Professional HR certification (CIPD, SHRM, HRCI, or equivalent) is preferred

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Performance Management or Talent Management.
  • Experience in large, multi-site or project-based organizations (construction/engineering preferred).
  • Proven experience managing full PMS cycles end-to-end.

  • Strong knowledge of performance management frameworks and competency-based systems.
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills (Excel, dashboards; Power BI is an advantage).
  • Ability to translate strategy into measurable KPIs and SMART objectives.
  • Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
  • High attention to detail, governance mindset, and confidentiality.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and advisory capability.
