Data Analyst – Operations and/or Finance

Overview

I’m partnering with a growing, purpose-driven organisation that’s investing heavily in analytics to enable smarter decision-making across the business. This is a chance to join a modern data environment where insight genuinely influences strategy, performance, and day-to-day outcomes.

The organisation is scaling and evolving, and data sits at the centre of that journey. They’re now looking for a Data Analyst to join their central data team while being embedded within Operations and or Finance - ensuring insights are practical, trusted, and action-oriented.

If you enjoy solving complex problems, partnering with stakeholders, and using data to shape better decisions, this is a role where your work will be seen, valued, and used.

About the Role

This role sits at the intersection of data, operations, and finance. You’ll act as a trusted analytics partner to business leaders, helping them understand performance, identify opportunities, and plan with confidence.

Working with a modern cloud-based tech stack, you’ll transform raw operational and financial data into insights that support smarter planning, improved efficiency, and stronger business performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partnering with Operations and Finance stakeholders to understand reporting, analysis, and planning requirements.
  • Building, maintaining, and automating dashboards, reports, and data models using Databricks, SQL, Python, and Power BI.
  • Delivering ad-hoc analysis and deep dives to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities across operational and financial performance.
  • Supporting financial insight, including cost drivers, workforce efficiency, and performance metrics.
  • Identifying opportunities to optimise and automate data processes and reporting workflows.
  • Collaborating with data engineers to ensure reliable, scalable, and well-structured data pipelines.
  • Driving adoption of a data-driven culture, enabling teams to make confident, evidence-based decisions.

About You

You’re a commercially minded analyst who enjoys working close to the business. You’re comfortable translating complex data into clear, meaningful insights and influencing stakeholders who may not have a technical background.

You’re curious, collaborative, and motivated by seeing your analysis directly shape decisions.

You’ll bring:

  • 4+ years’ experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or performance reporting.
  • Experience analysing operational performance, financial metrics, workforce efficiency, or process optimisation.
  • Proven ability to translate business problems into practical analytical solutions.
  • Strong hands-on skills in SQL and Python, with experience using Power BI, Databricks AI/BI, or similar BI tools.
  • Experience working in cloud data environments (AWS preferred).
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, particularly with Operations and Finance teams.
  • A relevant qualification in data, analytics, finance, or a related quantitative discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
