As the Systems and Data Analyst, you will play an important role in the development, maintenance, and delivery of data driven solutions to support VAQ.

As a member of the Systems and Data Team, you will also use your technical expertise to support the Lead Developer to facilitate proactive and regular maintenance tasks, incident investigation and resolution, request fulfilment and continuous service improvement activities.

You will design, develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance the data analytics infrastructure that informs the work of VAQ. With your knowledge in this area, you will provide data design and analysis, and leverage the possibilities through PowerBI dashboard reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a knowledge of VAQ processes, systems, and relevant legislation, and use this expertise to provide reporting solutions and advice.
  • Develop and maintain data governance frameworks, including establishing and enforcing data quality standards (including data dictionaries), validation rules, and audit procedures, to ensure consistency, reliability, and compliance across all data assets and reporting systems.
  • Identify data sources, and develop new, and enhance existing, data sets to meet the needs of VAQ, ensuring alignment with existing dashboards and reporting for analytics, to avoid any duplication or conflicting with existing data sets.
  • Identify trends and insights, and design and develop reports that convey these using appropriate data storytelling and visualisation techniques through dashboards in Power BI.
  • Continuously improve data analysis processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Perform system administration tasks, routine system checks and maintenance activities on VAQ's systems.
  • Ensure data integrity, quality, and delivery by implementing best practices in data management, following data governance policies and regulatory requirements to maintain privacy, security, and compliance.
  • Build, develop and sustain positive relationships with a range of key stakeholders to enable the collaborative delivery of projects and initiatives.
  • Liaise, negotiates, and responds to requests for data and reporting.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as directed by supervisory and management staff, adhering to professional standards and organisational objectives.
