Software Engineer – Advanced Sensor Technology & Autonomous Systems (Hybrid, Hasselt)
Location: Hasselt, Belgium (2–3 days on site per week)

Role Overview:
We are seeking a Software Engineer to join the core development team responsible for building the software that powers next-generation sensing, tracking, and signal intelligence systems. You will work across the stack and collaborate closely with hardware, AI, and signal processing specialists to deliver robust, high-performance solutions.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced scale-up environment, enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, and wants to contribute to meaningful technology with real-world impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain core software for real-time sensing, data processing, and tracking applications
- Build tools and services that integrate hardware components (SDRs, FPGAs, sensors) with AI-driven analytics
- Work closely with signal processing and AI engineers to deploy algorithms efficiently
- Contribute to the design and optimisation of internal APIs, microservices, and data pipelines
- Work across multiple system layers—from command-line interfaces to backend dashboards
- Improve system performance and reliability through testing, debugging, and code quality best practices
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong programming skills in Python or C++
- Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals (data structures, networking, I/O)
- Comfortable working in Linux environments with Git and CI/CD workflows
- Curious, pragmatic problem-solver with the ability to tackle real-world engineering challenges
- Strong communication skills and the willingness to collaborate and ask questions
- Experience working with low-level hardware such as SDRs, FPGAs, or embedded devices is a plus (not required)
