Within a central IT technology domain, the Observability team is responsible for providing platforms and capabilities that make IT services transparent, reliable, and measurable. These capabilities enable proactive monitoring, faster incident resolution, and data-driven continuous improvement.
The organization currently operates foundational observability tooling, but the vision, scope, and maturity are evolving. The ambition is to deliver Observability as a Service: integrated, scalable, and value-driven, with clear end-to-end ownership so that teams across IT can rely on trusted insights to deliver secure and resilient services.
The culture emphasizes value creation, ownership across the full lifecycle, collaboration, engineering for trust, and continuous improvement at a sustainable pace. Decisions are guided by evidence rather than opinion, within a psychologically safe environment that supports learning and growth.
The Role
As Product Owner you are accountable for the strategic evolution and value realization of observability products and capabilities within the IT organization.
You define and communicate a clear product vision and roadmap, align with business and IT priorities, and apply evidence-based management to guide decisions and measure outcomes. You operate in a complex stakeholder landscape and create conditions for collaboration and shared ownership across teams with different contexts and needs.
A key aspect of the role is shaping adoption and change enablement, ensuring that improvements are embedded sustainably and deliver measurable value.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and articulate the product vision and roadmap for observability capabilities in collaboration with IT leadership
- Align product evolution with overall business strategy and IT priorities
- Prioritize and manage backlogs based on value, risk, and evidence
- Navigate and align a complex stakeholder landscape across IT domains, business units, and governance bodies
- Stabilize delivery and contribute to enablement strategies for development teams
- Collaborate closely with architects to ensure technical alignment and sound integration choices
- Implement and contribute to evidence-based management practices, enabling transparency and measurable outcomes
- Support the development team in strengthening delivery discipline and Agile ways of working
- Contribute to PI planning and portfolio-level alignment
- Prepare reporting, governance updates, and investment cases
Experience & Background
- 8+ years of experience in product ownership, product management, or capability management within complex IT environments
- Strong understanding of observability or monitoring platforms and practices (preferably Dynatrace)
- Proven experience managing large stakeholder landscapes and cross-domain dependencies
- Demonstrated use of evidence-based management practices (e.g., ROI, TCO, OKRs, metrics)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems, Business IT, or equivalent practical experience
