Zayed National Museum is located at the heart of Saadiyat Cultural District Abu Dhabi. Job Purpose

  • The role of the Design Specialist is to play a key role in the management and delivery of Zayed National Museum’s visual brand providing creative direction for all design elements of museum marketing, communication, and digital content produced for all channels and ensure the Zayed National Museum visual brand and language is consistent across all communications and design activities, developing design concepts directly as well as overseeing the work of external designers.


Responsibilities

  • Ensure the Museums image, identity and brand standards are conveyed thought consistent design, both internally: stationery, presentations, etc. and externally through advertisements, production, digital layouts, retail products, etc.
  • Create, develop and oversee standards for marketing, branding and graphic design with the Graphic Designer(s).
  • Design and propose concepts for collateral related to museum exhibitions, learning & public engagement initiatives, publications and retail products.
  • Oversee the work of outsourced design agencies and its delivery in high quality design and artwork, accurately and on time.
  • Work with the Digital Marketing team to develop and create graphics and video for all digital media and web platforms.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the Museum’s Brand Guidelines and internal polices to convey consistent voice, tone and brand across traditional and digital marketing and communications platforms.
  • Work with the wider Marketing team to deliver on-brief innovative creative concepts for projects and campaigns.
  • Develop policies and procedures to better manage the creative process.
  • Identify, brief and select best suppliers, ensure value for money and quality of output, and oversee entire production process.
  • Pro-actively offer ideas and suggestions to enhance output, provide creative insights and solutions.
  • Source and collate images, artwork and text for marketing material.


Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor degree in a relevant subject, e.g. graphic design.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience in a creative role
  • Strong understanding of the ideation creation process.
  • Experience of managing external suppliers and freelancers.
  • Experience of leading the set- up and/or managing change in creative-related functions in a large organisation.
  • Experience of working with desk-top publishing software, e.g. Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Experience in producing multi-lingual design, specifically in Arabic and English.
  • Experience of producing high-quality design concepts for major communication campaigns in a busy environment with demanding stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in a high-profile design environment.
