Back End Developer (Golang) – 12 Month Contract

Fully Remote | Canada | US-Based End Client (Insurance)

We are recruiting experienced Back End Engineer contractors to support a US-based end client in the insurance space, working on a large-scale, cloud-native platform undergoing major re-engineering.

This is a core backend role for strong Golang engineers who enjoy working in high-performance, distributed systems and tight delivery timelines.

The Mission

You’ll be part of a 50+ person engineering squad delivering mission-critical backend services.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design and build cloud-native backend services using Golang
• Support scaling initiatives across infrastructure and services
• Collaborate with Architects, Tech Leads, and Delivery Managers across workstreams
• Deliver clean, production-grade code under tight timelines

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial experience as a Back End / Software Engineer
• Advanced Golang (Go) development experience
• Proven experience building cloud-based or cloud-native applications
• Solid backend engineering fundamentals (APIs, services, scalability, performance)
• Comfortable working fully remote in distributed teams
• Experience in regulated or enterprise environments (insurance/financial services a plus)

Tech Environment (Exposure Beneficial)

• Golang, microservices
• Cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
• Containerisation & orchestration (EKS / Kubernetes)
• Event-driven systems (Kafka)
• Modern DevOps practices

Contract Details

• Duration: 12 months
• Location: Canada (Fully Remote)
• End Client: US-based (Insurance sector)
• Candidate Rate: CAD 65 – 70 per hour
