We are looking for a UI Designer for one of our financial clients in Toronto, Ontario
Location: Remote
Type: Contract 12 months
Rate: 65/Hr (negotiable)
Role summary:
Translate the UX strategy into polished, responsive interfaces for Employee Center. Produce high-fidelity screens, reusable component specs, and theme assets that align with the ServiceNow Design System. Partner closely with engineering to ensure pixel-accurate and accessible implementation.
Primary objectives:
Deliver page templates and interaction details for core Employee Center experiences.
Map legacy Angular widgets to modern components and propose redesigns where needed Provide responsive layouts and theme assets for desktop and mobile Support design QA during build, verify accessibility and brand consistency
Key responsibilities:
- Create high-fidelity mockups and clickable prototypes for prioritized journeys
- Build component specs and redlines for UI Builder and Now
- Experience components Produce responsive layout guidance and breakpoints for common templates and cards
- Define microcopy, states, and error handling patterns that reduce friction
- Prepare theme assets and tokens that reflect corporate branding in Theme Builder
- Maintain a component mapping matrix: legacy widget to EC component or custom React Partner with developers to validate feasibility, provide assets, and review implementation
- Conduct design QA, accessibility checks, and support iteration based on feedback
- Document patterns and contribute to the team’s design library
Required skills and experience:
- 4 to 7 years in product UI design for enterprise applications
- Portfolio showing system-level thinking, responsive design, and accessibility-aware execution.
- Strong visual design skills including typography, color, layout, iconography.
- Ability to work within a design system and extend patterns thoughtfully
Tools required:
- Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD with component libraries and auto layout.
- Miro or Fig Jam for collaboration and quick ideation ServiceNow UI Builder, Theme Builder, Experience Components familiarity
- Accessibility checks using axe or equivalent Jira or Azure DevOps for design tasks and reviews Confluence or SharePoint for specs and versioning
Nice to have:
- Experience with ServiceNow Employee Center and Next Experience
- Familiarity with Storybook, tokens, and handoff to React component libraries
- Ability to write production-ready microcopy and contribute to content standards
- Exposure to Icon design or motion guidelines for subtle UI feedback
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, HCI, or related field. Equivalent experience considered.
