An L3 Aruba WLAN Design and Deployment involve designing, implementing, and maintaining Aruba wireless networks. This includes understanding client needs, conducting site surveys, designing WLAN coverage, configuring Aruba controllers and access points, troubleshooting issues, and implementing security policies.

  • Aruba Mobility Controllers:

These controllers are essential for managing APs and providing centralized control over the WLAN, including routing and traffic prioritization.

  • Aruba Central:

A cloud-based management platform that simplifies deployment, configuration, and monitoring of Aruba WLANs, including Layer 3 routing.

Deployment Models:

  • Controller-based:

This model uses Aruba Mobility Controllers for managing APs and implementing Layer 3 routing.

  • Controllerless (Aruba Instant):

While not as advanced as controller-based, Aruba Instant offers a simplified deployment option with limited Layer 3 routing capabilities.

  • Network Topology:

Plan the physical layout of your network, including the placement of APs, controllers, and switches.

  • Security Policies:

Implement robust security measures, including authentication, encryption, and access control.

  • Wireless Standards:

Choose the appropriate 802.11 standards for your needs, considering speed, range, and security requirements.

  • Traffic Prioritization:

Implement traffic prioritization mechanisms to ensure that critical applications receive adequate bandwidth.
