JD : IT Business Analyst

COMPENTENCY PURPOSE

Roles in this level analyse user requirements, document project and system specifications, plan and supervise programming / development activities and test developed systems to ensure that they meet business (end user) requirements

Skilled to support Honeywell Applications like PIMS (Plant Information Management Systems), PHD (Process Historian Database), UPS (Uniformance Process Studio), PCT (PHD Configuration Tool), AFM (Advance Formula Manager) Uniformance Excel companion, AMS (Alarm Management System), Operations Monitoring, Production Balance etc.

Skilled to support Baker Hughes Applications with respect to plant operations.

They review and establish programming / development, testing and installation guidelines and manuals to ensure user-friendliness of applications. They resolve system malfunctions & problems escalated by the end users. Customer Satisfaction is an important aspect of this role as is the concern for timeliness and meeting of deadlines.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :

Management Systems

* Awareness of QAFCO Integrated Management Systems (Quality; Environment; Occupational Health & Safety; Responsible Care; & Energy Management Systems; and IFA Product Stewardship)

Awareness of IT Procedures & Methodologies

* Develop awareness of, and perform in accordance with, the Company’s established IT policies, procedures, and methodologies.

Identification of User Requirements

* Consult with users, identify and document business requirements and problems to automate or improve existing systems/ processes.

PIMS / AMS / On-Site Monitor Activities (Baker Hughes Systems)

* Coordinate / Maintenance of PIMS functionality in line with management requirements. • Ensure Honeywell / Baker Hughes system availability with minimum down time. • Develops required reports and identify areas of improvement and concerns.

* Coordinate with Honeywell / Baker Hughes, QAFCO IT, Plant Productivity, Automation, other trades to maintain PIMS / AMS / Baker Hughes systems.

* Responsible for defining and making program modifications in coordination with vendor and business as required.

* Coordination of IT Maintenance improvement project.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :

* Proficient in HTML, JavaScript, .Net based developments like creating web applications, web services & windows-based applications to support the interfaces.

* Coordinate plant IT system issues on behalf of QAFCO IT, Operation Division (Plant Productivity section) and Vendor.

* To perform the patch management responsibilities with respect to IT business solution systems. • Analyze system problems and coordinate for decision which includes modification of IT Plant Systems.

Process Mapping

* Convert business requirements and project specifications into logical flow charts to illustrate sequence of steps and clarify anticipated outputs with End-Users.

Supervise Programming / Development Activity

* Assign or individually carry out programming / Development activities applying expert knowledge in application-specific coding methodologies.

Perform System Testing

* Perform unit testing and regression testing to eliminate errors / bugs to ensure that they are in conformance with Business Requirements & specifications and coordinate with Business the User Acceptance Sign Offs.

Development of Guidelines & Procedures:

* Write and revise system installation guidelines, testing guidelines and operating manuals to achieve user friendliness of systems.

Systems Maintenance

* Revise existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements by QAFCO Sections.

Problem Identification and Resolution

* Investigate and identify root-cause of occurring problems and system malfunctions and participate in the formulation of remedial solutions to avoid repeated

Keeping Informed on New IT Developments

* Read manuals, periodicals, and technical reports to learn how to develop programs to meet staff and user requirements.

Assistance to Superiors

* Perform related duties as assigned by superiors to enable achievement of groups targets and programs

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE :

Bachelor of Computer Science / Engineering from a recognised University

* 5+ years direct and relevant IT Plant Operations Systems experience.

* 3-5 years direct and relevant dotnet programming experience.

* Experienced in Baker Hughes Systems with respect to plant operations
