Cove creates and provides an AI native platform with innovative insurance products, pricing models and front-end components enabling rapid integration for better business outcomes.

Role Description

We’re looking for a mid-level UI/UX Designer to help design and evolve the front-end experiences across our digital platforms, with a focus on usability, clarity, and supporting strong conversion outcomes.

You’ll work closely with product managers, engineers, and commercial stakeholders at Cove and across our portfolio of businesses. This role focuses on designing effective user experiences informed by user behaviour and performance insights, while maintaining strong UX fundamentals.

You’ll be involved in both designing new experiences from the ground up and improving existing ones, contributing design input to CRO and experimentation efforts where relevant.

This role is based in our harbourfront Manly office, located directly across from the Ferry terminal for easy commuting. We’re a hybrid workplace and ask that the team works in-person 2–3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

UI/UX design for clarity and performance

• Design clear, intuitive user experiences that reduce friction and support conversion.
• Work across end-to-end user journeys, from early concepts through to delivery.
• Apply UX principles that help users make confident decisions at key moments.
• Design solutions that scale across multiple white-label implementations.
• Apply and contribute to the design system to ensure consistency and quality.

Collaboration, experimentation, and iteration

• Work closely with product and engineering to ensure designs are practical and buildable.
• Communicate design intent, rationale, and trade-offs clearly to stakeholders.
• Support experimentation and A/B testing by contributing design input to test variants.
• Use qualitative feedback and behavioural data to inform design improvements.
• Consider partner-specific user behaviour when evolving shared front-end components.

What we're looking for:

Design capability

• 3–5 years’ experience in UI/UX or product design.
• Strong UI fundamentals, with a focus on clarity and usability.
• Experience working with evolving UI patterns and helping improve consistency over time.
• Comfortable designing both new features and improving existing experiences.
• Confident using modern design and collaboration tools to create delivery-ready designs.

Performance-aware design mindset

• Interest in understanding user behaviour and how design impacts conversion.
• Comfortable working with data to evaluate and refine design decisions.
• Understands how design impacts funnel performance, not just usability.
• Practical, outcome-focused approach that balances UX quality and commercial goals.
• Able to take ownership of assigned areas and manage work independently.
