In The Center For Digital Safety & Security We Develop State-of-the-art Information And Communication Technologies To Ensure That Our Systems Are Highly Secure And Reliable In The Context Of Comprehensive Digitalisation And Global Networking
Our experts from the Competence Unit Cooperative Digital Technologies work on the development of data-based IT solutions for various application scenarios, including the design of new and innovative solutions supporting communities in increasing their resilience and achieving their sustainable development goals (SDG). As a reliable partner of industry and public authorities, we work on digital tools for a sustainable and resilient society based on current research results and in collaboration with end users and our customers.
The focus of our applications is on environmental data and air quality sensor management.
CENTER FOR DIGITAL SAFETY & SECURITY
- You are part of an interdisciplinary team and contribute to setting up, expanding, and improving our efforts to ensure the safety of our environment.
- You are contributing to the continuous improvement of our solutions for the implementation of quality-assured environmental data and sensor network management.
- Under the guidance of our interdisciplinary team, you will get insights into research and learn how to develop data processing methods for the entire processing chain - from data acquisition and analysis to information extraction and the interactive, user-friendly presentation of results.
- You support us in our international projects and get exciting insights into our technological environment.
- You will have not only the opportunity to discuss your work experiences and results with experienced scientific peers, but also to connect with other bachelor’s, master’s or PhD students.
- Ongoing master’s studies in the field of computer science, mathematics, physics or similar at an Austrian University
- Programming experience in Front-End design and Development with focus on scientific dashboards and visualization tools
- Programming knowledge in Java, Software Testing (experience with ‘Robot’ framework is a plus) and/or programming knowledge in Angular, JavaScript and Typescript with focus on and data visualization
- Background in air quality sensing principles is a plus.
- Experience with data visualization techniques and libraries
- Ability to work in a team, flexibility and commitment
- Particular interest in applied research and in solving practical problems
- Good verbal and written English skills, German skills would be a plus
- Duration of the internship: minimum 2 months
- Start date: summer 2026 – However there is some flexibility concerning the start-date
- A remuneration of EUR 1.415,-- gross per month for 38.5 hours per week. In addition to our company benefits, we offer flexible working conditions and work experience in a highly innovative environment.
AIT participates also in the Internship programme for female students of the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) . The Federal Ministry for Innovation, Mobility and Infrastructure supports internships for female students within the FFG funding initiative “Training and Young Talent”. The aim is to encourage young female scientists to pursue careers in applied research in the STEM-related RTI fields (Research, Technology and Innovation) and to increase the proportion of female researchers and engineers in companies.
