Overview
We are hiring a Data Scientist to support an established team with our Life Science client, working across multi-source data ingestion and analytics, helping shape and deliver usable datasets and insights to internal stakeholders. This is a hands-on role suited to someone early-career who can ramp quickly and collaborate closely with local stakeholders in Cork.
Key responsibilities
- Support end-to-end data work from generation through integration into a data lake
- Ingest, clean, and consolidate data from multiple sources
- Package and structure datasets so they are usable for teams and downstream consumption
- Apply practical data science techniques to support analysis and decision-making
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and contribute to documentation/knowledge sharing
Required experience & skills
- 2-3 years' experience in a Data Scientist / Analytics / Data-focused role
- Strong Python (or equivalent) for analysis and data handling
- Experience working with structured and semi-structured data from multiple sources
- Familiarity with data lake / data platform concepts (cloud or on-prem)
- Solid communication skills / able to explain findings and approach clearly
Nice to have
- Exposure to life sciences / lab / regulated environments (GxP awareness)
- Experience with modern data tooling (e.g., pipelines/ETL/ELT concepts, SQL, notebooks)
- Experience collaborating with data engineering / platform teams
