Senior AI/Python Engineer

Location: Madrid

Contract Length: 6 months (likely extended)

Join an innovative team to design and develop AI-driven, full-stack applications supporting global energy and sustainability projects. As a Senior AI/Python Engineer, you will:

• Design and deliver full-stack AI applications for production environments.
• Build reliable Python backends (APIs, services, data pipelines).
• Implement advanced AI architectures, including robust retrieval systems and agent orchestration.
• Design, optimize, and manage SQL databases, especially PostgreSQL.
• Integrate lightweight, efficient frontends (using HTML and modern frameworks).
• Train and evaluate machine learning models, including large language models (LLMs).
• Maintain and optimize AI solutions for performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including product, data, and business experts.
• Contribute to technical decision-making and best practices.

Key Skills

• 5+ years of experience with Python, API development (FastAPI, Flask, or similar).
• Strong knowledge of asynchronous programming and concurrency.
• Production experience with AI/ML applications.
• Expertise in SQL and advanced PostgreSQL database management.
• Experience with AI technologies, including LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and intelligent agents.
• Hands-on with model training: fine-tuning, transfer learning, and evaluation.
• Understanding of vectors, embeddings, tokenization, and prompt engineering.
• Familiarity with HTMX, TailwindCSS, or similar frontend frameworks (a plus).
• Experience with vector databases or vector extensions (a plus).
• Academic background in AI, data science, computer engineering, or related fields.
