About Tightly

Tightly is an enterprise retail intelligence platform transforming how modern commerce organizations make operational decisions. Retail today runs on an ecosystem of interconnected systems — commerce, ERP, warehouses, logistics, finance, suppliers — yet the intelligence that binds them remains fragmented.

Our mission is to bring clarity, predictability, and decision intelligence to retail teams by unifying data and workflows across these environments. We partner with fast-growing and enterprise brands navigating complex catalogs, multi-channel operations, distributed networks, and demanding customer expectations.

About the Role

We're looking for a Data Scientist to own our forecasting and customer analytics end-to-end. You won't just be building models; you'll be proactively surfacing insights, catching anomalies, and acting as the "eyes and ears" of our data health. This is a high-ownership role for someone who is naturally curious and can act as a trusted partner for both Product and Engineering. You'll be responsible for turning messy, real-world customer data into stronger models and better product decisions across different industries.

What You'll Do

  • Data Deep-Dives: Get hands-on with new and existing customer data. You'll be the one checking the "plumbing" right after the first sync to identify patterns, risks, and opportunities.
  • Model Ownership: Own and improve our forecasting models as a core part of our ML stack. You'll analyze why certain models (like SARIMA) perform differently across various verticals (e.g., Cosmetics vs. Electronics) and drive improvements.
  • Proactive Intelligence: Build and maintain internal dashboards to catch anomalies early. If you see something in the data that needs fixing or building, you don't wait for a ticket—you push Product and Engineering to take action.
  • ML Strategy: Serve as our go-to expert for ML/AI decisions. Whether it's deciding on models for features or optimizing forecasts, you provide the "why" behind the "what."
  • Pragmatic Communication: Present insights in whatever format works best—dashboards, simple sheets, or prototypes. Your goal is clarity and action, not just documentation.
  • Engineering Partnership: Build 100% technical credibility with our engineers. You speak their language and care about the practical implementation of data science.

What We're Looking For

  • Hands-on Experience: Strong background in Data Science or Applied Analytics. You prefer "doing" over just "researching."
  • Forecasting Proficiency: Solid understanding of time-series analysis and ML concepts. You know which tool to use for which job.
  • Analytical Curiosity: A natural tendency to poke at data until it reveals something meaningful. You enjoy finding the "glitch in the matrix."
  • Product Mindset: You understand that data science is only as good as the product value it creates.
  • Credibility: You can hold your own in a room with senior engineers and defend your logic with data.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with multiple forecasting approaches (statistical and ML-based)
  • Python proficiency (pandas, numpy, statsmodels, scikit-learn, etc.)
  • Experience working with B2B or multi-vertical customer data
  • Experience building lightweight analytics or reporting tools

What Success Looks Like

  • Early Detection: Anomalies are caught and resolved before they ever become customer issues.
  • Model Maturity: Our forecasting performance improves systematically across different customer segments.
  • Informed Decisions: Product and Engineering teams actively rely on your insights to prioritize the roadmap.
  • Autonomous Impact: You are consistently surfacing insights we didn't even know we should be looking for.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary paid in USD—your hard work deserves real rewards.
  • Comprehensive health benefits, because your well-being is our priority.
  • Monthly food card to keep you fueled and focused.
  • Complimentary gym memberships or sports club access, so you can stay active and energized.
  • Quarterly onsite weeks packed with memorable team activities, networking opportunities, and exciting surprises.
  • A $500 annual learning & development budget—because we invest in your growth.
  • The chance to work with a global, diverse, ambitious team driven by innovation and collaboration.
  • Flexible working arrangements—work from home or wherever you’re most productive.
  • Ownership and autonomy from day one, with direct product impact.
  • Regular team-building events, from happy hours to cultural experiences.
  • Cutting-edge tools and tech to help you excel in your role.
  • A dynamic, fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.
