🚀 Hiring: Data Engineer – Automation & AI (UAE)

We’re looking for a Data Engineer – Automation & AI to join a high-impact programme in the UAE (Abu Dhabi or Dubai), working full-time on site on an initial 6-month contract (with potential extensions).

📍 Location: Abu Dhabi or Dubai (on site)

📄 Engagement: Full-time contract

⏳ Duration: 6 months + extensions

🗓 Start date: February 2026

Rate: 1700-2500 Dirhams Per Day

Visa Status: Client cant sponsor so you need to have a Golden visa or have your own company.

🎯 The Role

This role goes beyond building pipelines. You’ll own an end-to-end PoC focused on accelerating data engineering using Generative AI and agent-based techniques.

Working closely with the partner’s Data Lead and on-site engineering team, you’ll help modernise AWS-based data pipelines, translate legacy SQL and stored procedures into AWS Glue, and define AI-assisted patterns, tools, and guardrails that can scale beyond the PoC.

🛠 Key Responsibilities

• Design and build AWS Glue pipelines using Spark and SQL
• Migrate legacy SQL and stored procedures into modern AWS workflows
• Apply GenAI and agent-based approaches to speed up development, refactoring, and standardisation
• Build internal AI-assisted tooling using Python and LLM APIs
• Work with platforms such as AWS Bedrock, Azure AI Foundry, and GPT/Claude-class models
• Define practical guardrails for where AI automation adds value (and where it doesn’t)
• Document outcomes and recommendations for scaling AI-assisted data engineering

✅ What We’re Looking For

• 6+ years’ experience in data engineering or related roles
• Strong AWS data engineering background (AWS Glue, Spark, advanced SQL)
• Solid Python engineering experience
• Hands-on experience applying Generative AI in engineering workflows
• Experience designing AI-assisted tools or workflows (e.g. APIs, agent/MCP-style patterns)
