JDL Recruitment is seeking a Customer Fit Out Project Manager for a confidential client delivering large-scale, mission-critical data centre developments. This site-based role is integral to the successful coordination and delivery of all customer-specific works, ensuring end-user requirements are seamlessly integrated into the overall construction programme.
The position supports the Senior Project Manager and plays a key role in managing customer fit-out activities, including office fit-out, telecoms, and security systems, ensuring delivery is achieved safely, on time, within budget, and to agreed quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all customer and end-user fit-out works, including office spaces, telecoms, security systems, and other client-specific infrastructure.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer fit-out activities, managing day-to-day communication and queries.
- Liaise closely with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure customer works are fully integrated with the base build and MEP systems.
- Maintain and manage the programme for customer works, identifying risks, dependencies, and interface points with the wider construction programme.
- Track progress against key milestones and provide regular updates and reports to the Senior Project Manager.
- Coordinate design reviews, approvals, and change management processes related to customer scope.
- Monitor and control costs associated with customer fit-out works, escalating potential issues at an early stage.
- Support commissioning, integration, and handover of customer systems, ensuring installations are fully functional and compliant.
- Work collaboratively with internal departments including Design, Operations, IT/Telecom, and Security to prioritise and deliver customer requirements.
- Oversee end-user installation activities to ensure quality, compliance, and programme alignment.
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering customer fit-out, office build-out, telecoms, or security works within complex construction or data centre environments.
- Strong understanding of programme management, coordination, and cost control processes.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficient in MS Project, Excel, and Word.
- Highly organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Fluent in English.
- Experience within mission-critical or data centre projects is highly advantageous.
