Al Jomaih Energy & Water (AEW) headquartered in Saudi Arabia, is a fast-growing investor, lead developer, and operator of utility and infrastructure projects in various geographical markets such as KSA, GCC, Asia & North Africa, with investments in 6 GW of Conventional and Solar power plants, and around 700,000 m3/day of water.

AEW was established in 2007, as a subsidiary of Al Jomaih Holding Company, a leading Saudi conglomerate with a legacy spanning over 80 years, focused on enabling sustainable, social, and economic progress in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and beyond.

At AEW, our mission is to tackle new technologies, solve complex problems, and leverage our expertise to unlock opportunities in the Power, Renewables & Water Sectors, while driving impact for our stakeholders across the value chain.

This is a greenfield CCGT project to be constructed with a net power capacity of 2400 MW, together with its ancillary equipment, associated infrastructure and facilities. The Project comprises the Plant and associated Electrical Special Facilities (ESF). The Plant will be located inland at a site situated approximately 50 km north-east of the City of Abu Dhabi.

This role offers a unique opportunity to engage in the full lifecycle of the project, from design and engineering to construction and operation, all within a dynamic and innovative environment. This project promises stability and long-term impact.

Project Director

Overview

This role is responsible for overseeing and optimizing project planning, scheduling, cost control, risk management and performance monitoring. To ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Your Job Functions (Duties & Responsibilities)

Project Planning and Scheduling

  • Develop and maintain project schedules in collaboration with project Directors and stakeholders
  • Implement project controls methodologies to ensure accurate and achievable project timelines

Performance Monitoring & Risk Management

  • Implement systems to track and monitor project performance against established baselines
  • Analyze project metrics and key performance indicators to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Identify potential risks and uncertainties that may impact project timelines or budgets
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and collaborate with project teams to implement them

Resource Allocation

  • Work with project managers to allocate resources efficiently, including manpower, equipment, and materials
  • Ensure resource availability aligns with project requirements

Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare and distribute regular project control reports to communicate project status, progress, and forecasted outcomes
  • Maintain accurate and organized project documentation
  • Assess and analyze the impact of changes to project scope and schedule
  • Collaborate with project managers to implement change orders as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or equivalent
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in planning, scheduling with at least 5 years in Power industry, with relevant exposure to CCGTs
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, practices, and tools, including scheduling, cost control, risk management, and reporting
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is preferred
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera, Microsoft Project)
  • IT proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Fluency in spoken and written in English
