This is you
- 4+ years of professional experience as a PHP Developer (PHP 7.x preferred)
- Strong understanding of PHP fundamentals, including PSR-4 autoloading and general project structure
- Comfortable working with large legacy codebases, including procedural code and mixed coding styles
- Confident in debugging, tracing execution flow, and investigating issues in poorly documented systems
- Experience working in Linux environments:
- Using SSH
- Basic shell commands
- Running PHP scripts via CLI
- Able to read and understand code written in other languages (especially Java) for workflow tracing purposes
- Familiar with cron jobs and background task execution
- Good command of English, at least at an upper-intermediate level
- Maintain, debug, and extend a large PHP 7.4 codebase built without modern frameworks
- Investigate production and non-production issues by tracing logic through legacy and inconsistently structured code
- Execute, test, and validate application logic triggered by cron jobs, Camunda workflows, and PHP CLI scripts
- Collaborate closely with business teams, analysts, and developers to understand system behavior and undocumented logic
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement stable, reliable fixes
- Review logs, analyze system behavior, and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Follow and understand existing workflows implemented in Camunda (Java-based) processes (read-only, no Java coding required)
- Work together with team leads to gradually improve code quality and reduce technical debt
