Scrum Master – Banking Client (Glasgow, Hybrid)


Job Title: Agile Scrum Master

Location: Glasgow - onsite 2-3 days per week

Rate: £356 per day Umbrella


We are working with a leading banking client to find an experienced Scrum Master to support multiple Agile squads delivering enterprise data services. This is a contract role based in Glasgow, running until 31/12/2026, with 2–3 days on-site per week.


About the Role:


As Scrum Master, you will lead Agile squads focused on data ingestion, transformation, cloud-native data services, metadata/lineage, and platform engineering enhancements. You will drive predictable delivery, coach teams on Agile best practices, and collaborate closely with Product Owners, Data Architects, Cloud Engineers, and Platform Leads.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Scrum ceremonies and manage sprint planning, backlog prioritisation, demos, and retrospectives.
  • Track and report delivery metrics such as velocity, burn-down, and flow efficiency.
  • Coordinate dependencies across data platforms, including pipelines, APIs, master/reference data, and governance tooling.
  • Facilitate alignment between teams, architects, and business stakeholders.
  • Embed continuous improvement and Agile principles across squads.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal controls frameworks.


Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years as a Scrum Master or Agile Delivery Lead, ideally in enterprise data/technology programmes.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and scaled delivery frameworks.
  • Experience supporting teams building ETL/ELT pipelines, APIs, cloud-native platforms, and data products.
  • Familiarity with data engineering frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and governance tooling.
  • Banking experience (Customer Data/Master Data/Enterprise Data programmes) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • CSM, PSM I/II, SAFe, or similar Agile certifications.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or MS Project.
  • Background in data engineering, analytics, or cloud delivery.
