High blood pressure is the world's most common disease, causing 18M deaths each year. At Hilo by Aktiia, our vision is a world where no lives are lost or damaged from the effects of high blood pressure. Our mission is to make this a reality by developing tech to help people control their blood pressure.
We are a venture-backed scale-up company, having raised over $96M from investors in Europe and the United States. Our technology - rooted in 18 years of research at the Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology (CSEM) - is the world's only medically accurate, continuous blood pressure monitor that is cuffless in daily life in the consumer space. Validated through extensive clinical trials and CE Marked as a Class IIa medical device, our solution is now available in 12 countries. We are a hybrid/remote-first company, with Headquarters in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, united by our passion for impact and innovation.
Role Overview : Senior Manager, Corporate Technology & Security
We are seeking a senior, hands-on technology leader to own and continuously evolve the company's corporate technology and security landscape, with a strong focus on enabling speed, innovation, and scalable growth.
This role has end-to-end accountability for internal IT systems, security, access management, and data protection in a hybrid, regulated environment. Beyond stability and compliance, you will actively use technology, automation, and AI to improve how teams operate, collaborate, and deliver outcomes.
You will act as a central enabling function for the organisation: evaluating new tools, experimenting where appropriate, and helping teams adopt technologies that genuinely make them more effective. While this is a Senior Manager role, it carries clear ownership and decision rights, and a strong expectation to challenge the status quo.
Core Responsibilities
- Ownership of Corporate Technology as a Growth Enabler
- Own the company's internal technology and security landscape end-to-end
- Define and continuously evolve the target state for corporate IT and internal platforms
- Actively identify opportunities where technology, automation, or AI can remove friction or unlock new ways of working
- Balance innovation, speed, security, and cost in a regulated environment
- Tech Foresight, Innovation & AI Enablement
- Stay close to emerging technologies, AI capabilities, and modern tooling
- Proactively assess where new technologies can create real business value
- Enable safe experimentation and structured adoption of new tools
- Help teams understand and use technology effectively rather than introducing tools for their own sake
- Promote a culture where technology is seen as an enabler, not a bottleneck
- Security, Risk & Compliance Enablement
- Own corporate security principles across identity, access, devices, and data
- Ensure appropriate protection of sensitive, personal, and regulated data
- Lead security risk assessments, audits, and remediation initiatives
- Translate regulatory and compliance requirements into pragmatic, workable setups
- Build security awareness as a habit across the organisation
- Identity, Access & Device Management
- Own user identity, access control, and device management in a hybrid setup
- Define standards for onboarding, offboarding, and privilege management
- Ensure secure and efficient device lifecycle management
- Balance strong security with usability and productivity
- Internal Platforms, Tools & Integrations
- Own the corporate tooling ecosystem across functions
- Define principles for tool selection, integration, and data ownership
- Work with functional leaders to ensure tools support real business outcomes
- Reduce complexity and prevent tool sprawl while enabling innovation
- External Vendors & Technology Partners
- Select, onboard, and manage external IT, security, and technology partners
- Decide what should be built internally versus sourced externally
- Define scopes, SLAs, and accountability models
- Ensure continuity, scalability, and cost discipline
- Policies, Resilience & Continuity
- Own IT, security, and data policies as living documents
- Ensure robust backup, recovery, and business continuity setups
- Regularly test and improve resilience rather than relying on static plans
Experience
- 6-10 years of experience in corporate IT, security, or internal technology roles
- Experience owning and evolving IT setups in hybrid or distributed organisations
- Exposure to regulated or compliance-driven environments
- Proven experience working with external vendors and service providers
- Strong curiosity for new technology and AI, paired with good judgement
- Comfortable challenging existing setups and proposing better alternatives
- Able to balance experimentation with reliability and security
- Clear communicator who can translate technical topics into business impact
- Documentation-driven without being bureaucratic
- Solid understanding of SaaS ecosystems, cloud platforms, and integrations
- Practical experience with identity, access management, and security controls
- Comfortable with automation, scripting, and structured data formats
- Able to assess and guide technical designs without needing to build everything personally
- Teams feel enabled, not slowed down, by corporate technology
- New tools and AI capabilities are adopted deliberately and effectively
- Security and compliance are predictable, not reactive
- The company can scale people, data, and complexity without constant rework
- Not a helpdesk or ticket-only IT support role
- Not a one-person "do everything" IT function
- Not technology for technology's sake
