Job Description - System Administrator (Windows Server &

Hybrid/Cloud)

The supplier will provide one dedicated resource for end-to-end administration of Windows Server environments,

both on-premises and hybrid/cloud (Azure/AWS).

Responsibilities include:

- Windows Server Administration: Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server (2016/2019/2022); manage

Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, PKI; patch management and OS lifecycle compliance.

- Hybrid & Cloud Integration: Manage workloads in Azure/AWS; implement Azure AD Connect, conditional access,

identity federation; support virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V) and container orchestration (Kubernetes).

- Networking: Troubleshoot TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewall rules; work with SD-WAN and VPN configurations.

- Security & Compliance: Apply hardening standards, vulnerability remediation, encryption policies; integrate with

PAM solutions for privileged access.

- Automation & Scripting: Develop PowerShell scripts for automation and reporting; support Infrastructure as Code

(Terraform/Ansible).

- Monitoring & Performance: Use tools like SolarWinds, Grafana, Azure Monitor for observability; conduct capacity

planning and performance tuning.

- Disaster Recovery & Backup: Implement replication strategies, offsite vaulting; validate DR plans and execute

failover tests.

Required Skills:

- Strong knowledge of Windows Server OS, Active Directory, Group Policy

- Experience with Azure/AWS services (VMs, storage, networking)

- Familiarity with VMware/Hyper-V, SD-WAN, basic network troubleshooting

- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation frameworks

- Understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management)

Preferred Certifications:

- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (AZ-800)

- AWS SysOps Administrator – Associate or Azure Administrator

- ITIL Foundation

Soft Skills:

- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

- Ability to work in cross-functional teams and handle escalations

- Excellent documentation and communication skills
