ACENSI is looking for a BI Analyst / Power BI for one of thier clients in the energy sector based in Brussels :

Job description

We are seeking a BI Analyst with very good expertise in Power BI and a solid understanding of data modeling techniques (including star schema) implemented in modern technology stack (Databricks, etc.).

This role is pivotal in bridging business needs with data-driven insights by collecting BI requirements and designing dashboards with the appropriate level of governance. You will be part of team with around 5 other BI analysts. Each BI analyst will be assigned to a specific Data & Business Domain.

Key Responsibilities

• Business understanding and requirement gathering

▪ Collaborate within your team to understand the business activities and to challenge and document BI/reporting needs expressed by the business stakeholders

▪ Translate business needs into analytical requirements and data specifications

• Report & Dashboard creation

▪ Design and build the relationships between the tables (dimension, facts) and use DAX to create calculated columns

▪ Create interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI using the correct visuals and functionalities (slicers, filters, drill-through, etc.)

• Data Understanding & Modeling

▪ Work closely with data engineers, architects and BI teams to understand upstream data models

▪ Support data governance and quality initiatives by ensuring reports and dashboard are well documented

▪ Ensure that the developments done are optimized for performance, cost, scalability and usability

Required Skills

▪ Proven experience as BI analyst on the Energy Retail or similar customer-centric industry

▪ Advanced proficiency in Power BI (DAX, Power Query, dataflows, etc.)

▪ Solid understanding of dimensional modeling (star schema)

▪ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

▪ Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

▪ Experience with data governance and visualization standards

Preferred Skills

• Good knowledge of SQL

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Sprint, etc.)

• Experience with Fabric and modern data platform like Databricks

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Information Management, Data Science or related fields

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Power BI

• Power BI Data Analyst Associate Certificate (PL-300)

Languages

• Fluent in either Dutch or French

• Fluent in English

Location and period

• Brussels (minimum 2 days at the office)

• 01/2026 to 12/2026 (+ extension possible)
