You'll work at the intersection of technical feasibility (with Engineering), regulatory constraints (with Legal and Compliance), financial operations (with Finance and Treasury), and business growth (with Sales and executive leadership). Your decisions determine how we scale our platform, and your technical judgment shapes what's possible.
This is a builder role. We have product-market fit and we're in scale-up mode. You'll optimize what we've built, modernize aging systems, and build new capabilities that unlock partnerships and revenue growth. The challenge isn't figuring out if customers want what we're building—it's figuring out how to deliver increasingly complex financial infrastructure at global scale.
What You'll Work On
- Core payments engine: Reliability, routing logic, processor integrations, reconciliation systems, and performance optimization
- FX infrastructure: Rate management, currency pair expansion, hedging support, and margin optimization
- Treasury management: Partner with Finance on system implementation, tooling decisions, and operational workflows that manage liquidity and cash positioning
- Tax product: Own our full tax offering—calculation logic, jurisdiction expansion, compliance features, and integrations that power our Merchant of Record value proposition
- Payout Infrastructure: Partner with Finance to automate merchant payouts globally—optimizing for accuracy, timeliness, and cost across payment rails, banking partners, and currencies
- Cross-functional execution: Bridge Engineering, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Operations—translating between technical constraints and business requirements without losing the thread
Reach enables companies to sell globally as a Merchant of Record—handling payments, tax, compliance, and logistics in over 100 countries. Our offering is uniquely comprehensive, which makes it uniquely complex. What we've built works, and now we're scaling it.
You'll own the financial infrastructure that makes all of this possible. One day you're evaluating tax integration partners, the next you're implementing treasury systems with Finance, the next you're deciding which payment methods unlock growth in new markets. There's no shortage of lofty goals or interesting problems.
This role reports to the VP of Product and sits at the center of Reach's technical and operational engine. If you thrive on complexity, value autonomy, and want your technical judgment to directly shape how a company scales globally, this is the role.
Requirements
Required Experience
- 5+ years in product management with significant focus on payments, fintech infrastructure, or financial systems
- Proven track record shipping technical, back-end systems—not just customer-facing features
- Experience working within regulatory frameworks (payment processing regulations, tax compliance, treasury operations)
- Direct exposure to payment processors, FX providers, tax engines, or treasury management platforms
- Comfortable working with engineers on technical architecture, API design, data models, and system integrations
- Technical depth: You can discuss system architecture, data flows, API contracts, and edge cases with engineers—and hold your own
- Domain learning velocity: You don't need to be a tax expert today, but you'll need to become an expert on how we do tax, payments, FX, and treasury—quickly
- Judgment under ambiguity: You can make decisions with incomplete information, balancing technical debt against business velocity
- Systems thinking: You understand how payments, FX, treasury, and tax intersect—and how a change in one area ripples across the platform
- Operational excellence: You ship things that work at scale, withstand regulatory scrutiny, and don't break when edge cases appear
- Builder mentality: You roll up your sleeves and solve problems wherever you can—this isn't a "stay in your lane" environment
- You're energized by technical complexity, not intimidated by it
- You believe in shipping thoughtful, scalable solutions—not quick hacks that create future debt
- You're comfortable with autonomy and clear accountability—you don't need your hand held
- You see cross-functional collaboration as part of the job, not a distraction from it
- You understand that global commerce is messy, and "simple" solutions rarely work when you're operating across currencies, jurisdictions, and regulatory regimes
- You're looking for a consumer product role with clean user journeys and A/B tests
- You prefer front-end, UI-focused product work over infrastructure and systems
- You're uncomfortable making technical decisions or challenging engineering on feasibility
- You need prescriptive direction or clearly defined swim lanes
- You're not willing to invest the ramp-up time to deeply understand a complicated business
