Senior Azure DevOps Engineer (Permanent)

I am engaging experienced Senior Azure DevOps Engineers for a permanent position with my Dublin-based client. This role presents an opportunity to contribute to complex cloud infrastructure, automation, and platform engineering initiatives within a fast-paced, enterprise-grade environment.

Location: Dublin (hybrid model with weekly on-site presence)

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and support robust CI/CD pipelines leveraging Azure DevOps services
• Provision, manage, and optimize Microsoft Azure infrastructure and platform services
• Implement automated infrastructure provisioning and application deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies
• Design and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks for production workloads
• Partner with software engineering teams to enhance deployment reliability, scalability, and release velocity
• Enforce security best practices, governance controls, and compliance requirements across all environments
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and remediate complex platform, infrastructure, and deployment issues
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and knowledge transfer to junior engineers

Essential Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience designing and operating solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform
• Advanced expertise in Azure DevOps services, including Pipelines, Repos, Artifacts, and Boards
• Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates
• Practical experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• Proven experience working with JIRA for work item tracking and delivery management
• Strong scripting and automation capabilities using PowerShell, Python, and/or Bash
• In-depth understanding of CI/CD concepts, pipeline design patterns, and DevOps best practices
• Solid experience with Git-based version control systems and branching strategies
• Strong knowledge of Azure networking, identity, security, and governance frameworks
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder communication skills

Desirable Skills

• Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, DevOps Engineer Expert, Solutions Architect)
• Experience implementing observability solutions using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Grafana, and Prometheus
• Familiarity with configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
• Experience working within Agile and Scrum delivery frameworks
• Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architectures
• Working knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards including ISO 27001 and GDPR
