Market Head - Private Side Solutions Sales – Africa Coverage



Role Overview


My client are seeking a dynamic, senior leader to drive the Private Side Solutions Sales franchise with primary focus on the African market, one of the bank's core strategic growth regions.


This high-impact, front-office leadership role is based in Dubai, leveraging the city's position as the regional hub for Africa and the Middle East. You will originate and deliver integrated financial markets solutions to corporate and institutional clients across Africa, combining the full breadth of the bank's balance sheet, products, and global network to create differentiated, high-value client propositions.



Key Responsibilities


Strategic Leadership


  • Develop and articulate a clear, forward-looking strategic vision for private side solution sales targeting Africa, fully aligned with overall corporate strategy and regional market priorities.
  • Seamlessly integrate financial markets products, corporate coverage, capital markets, and transaction banking capabilities to deliver holistic, high-value client solutions tailored to African corporates, institutions, and multinationals.
  • Cultivate strong, trust-based partnerships with client coverage teams to enhance market penetration, deepen wallet share, and successfully pursue major opportunities across the continent.
  • Orchestrate and lead coordinated, multi-product client engagement initiatives, including joint pitches, senior-level presentations, and structured solution-design workshops — often bridging Dubai-based teams with on-ground Africa stakeholders.
  • Establish and drive regular cross-functional forums to ensure continuous alignment, knowledge sharing, and synergy between private side sales and product/support units.


Business Development


  • Deliver consistent revenue growth through sophisticated, targeted sales strategies focused on cross-sell and up-sell opportunities across the African corporate and institutional client base.
  • Achieve (and strive to exceed) full-year income targets through disciplined pipeline management, proactive deal origination, and rigorous opportunity tracking — with emphasis on Africa's high-potential sectors (infrastructure, commodities, energy transition, intra-African trade).
  • Build and maintain deep, trusted advisory relationships with key clients, developing a thorough understanding of their strategic priorities, balance sheet needs, and financial objectives in Africa's evolving landscape.
  • Actively champion product innovation by partnering closely with product, structuring, and trading teams to design and evolve differentiated, client-centric solutions that stand out in competitive African markets.
  • Create and deliver high-impact sales narratives, pitches, and presentations that powerfully communicate the strategic value, commercial benefits, and execution excellence of the offerings.


Experience required

  • 10+ years of proven experience in financial markets sales, corporate solutions sales, or structured products origination within a leading international or investment bank — ideally with direct Africa coverage or emerging markets exposure.
  • Deep expertise in integrating FX, Rates, Credit, Commodities, and other markets products with corporate banking needs (e.g., hedging, financing, balance sheet solutions) in African contexts.
  • Strong track record of exceeding revenue targets, building C-suite relationships, and originating complex, high-value deals in frontier/emerging markets.
  • Exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills — able to influence and align cross-functional, multi-regional teams.
  • Strategic mindset with commercial acumen; comfortable operating in fast-paced, matrixed environments across Africa and the Middle East from a Dubai base.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CFA, MBA, or equivalent) preferred; regulatory knowledge and conduct excellence essential.
