Data & Analytics Consultant

Location: Melbourne (Hybrid).

6 month contract + rolling extensions

An opportunity exists for a technically strong Data & Analytics Consultant to join a data-driven organisation undergoing significant investment in modern analytics and data platforms.

This role will suit someone with strong hands-on capability across data pipelines, analytics, and automation, combined with the ability to partner closely with stakeholders to deliver practical, high-impact data solutions.

You will play a key role in designing and implementing modern data architectures, enabling advanced analytics use cases, and improving operational efficiency through automation and self-service analytics.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable data pipelines using modern cloud data platforms.
• Develop and maintain ETL / ELT workflows integrating data from multiple internal and external sources.
• Automate data workflows using Python and low-code automation tools to reduce manual effort.
• Build and optimise data models to support BI reporting, analytics, and AI use cases.
• Provide Python-based analytics and statistical modelling support.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex data, pipeline, and data model issues.
• Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable data solutions.
• Create documentation, best practices, and standards to support data literacy and self-service.
• Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy standards.

About You

• 5+ years’ experience in data analytics, data engineering, or analytics consulting roles.
• Advanced SQL skills and strong experience building data pipelines in cloud platforms (Azure, Snowflake, Databricks, Fabric or similar).
• Strong Python capability (Pandas, automation, analytics).
• Experience with data modelling for analytics and reporting.
• Exposure to workflow automation tools and CI/CD practices.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• A collaborative mindset with a passion for enabling data-driven decision making.
