What To Expect
Tesla is re-thinking how batteries are made from the ground up. We are designing new factories, new equipment, new processes, and new software to rapidly scale battery manufacturing. The primary bottleneck to Tesla’s future expansion and the transition to sustainable transport and energy storage is our ability to produce and procure batteries – that is why we are innovating in-house, with our collection of world-class engineers, to redefine the industry.
As part of the Global Cell Manufacturing Analytics and Systems team, you will drive analytics of critical and complex questions around process integration and overall factory optimization. While the role is based at Giga-Factory Berlin, you will support all of Tesla’s cell manufacturing factories across North America and Europe. You will develop data, analytics workflows and impact the design of data architecture and software solutions that will be deployed globally. In this role, you will also develop data-driven models and analyses that will help our leadership ramp up and optimize our cell factories as fast as possible and maximize yield, throughput and effectiveness.
Your hands-on analytics work will enable various engineering, operations, and executive customers at Tesla to leverage the vast amounts of data generated from the cell manufacturing process all the way to the global Tesla vehicle fleet, to design and produce safer, lower-cost, and higher-performance cells.
The work environment is intellectually demanding, fast-paced and incredibly exciting. You should be ready to push your limits, as you join a highly motivated and capable global team to achieve incredible goals.
What You'll Do
Deep dive into process integration and manufacturing issues to ensure interactions between processes are understood and kept under control Build data pipelines using Python, Apache AirFlow, Spark, SQL, ClickHouse and others Build intuitive visualizations that quickly answer questions using software and tools such as JMP, Minitab, Grafana, Plotly, Tableau, React JS and others Develop models to simulate cell manufacturing processes to drive improvements and future line design Work collaboratively with cross functional global teams Design and develop new systems and tools to enable cross-functional teams to consume and understand data faster Drive statistical data analysis, interpretation, and presentation of any manufacturing data Deep dive into process integrationand manufacturingissues to ensure interactions between processes are understood and kept under control Build data pipelines using Python, ApacheAirFlow, Spark, SQL,ClickHouseand others Build intuitive visualizations that quickly answer questions using software and tools such as JMP, Minitab, Grafana,Plotly, Tableau, ReactJS and others Develop models to simulate cell manufacturing processes to drive improvements and future line design Work collaboratively with cross functional global teams Design and develop new systems and tools to enable cross-functional teams to consume and understand data faster Drive statistical data analysis, interpretation, and presentation of any manufacturing data
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or equivalent experience Substantial programming experience (e.g., Python, MATLAB) Proficiency in SQL and Python stack (e.g. pandas, numpy, matplotlib, NumPy, SciPy) Strong communication skills to translate engineering questions into data/software requirements Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals Data visualization experience (e.g., Tableau, Grafana, Matplotlib, JMP, JavaScript) Proven problem solver - demonstrated experience of data driven root cause analysis, strong statistical background is a plus
Preferred Requirements
2+ years of high volume manufacturing experience Experience with building data pipelines, database fundamentals Familiarity and experience with machine learning models Experience in DOEs and statistical analysis and presentation of experimental data
