The Role

We are seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join us in our engineering team in our spacious and central Perth office, with flexible working options encouraged. You will help shape and develop our core user-facing application that provides budgeting, expense tracking and community related functionality to our users. Your primary function will be to maintain both the hybrid React.JS and React Native codebases for our consumer facing apps, as well as our Golang APIs backed by AWS, EKS and Postgres. You will be exposed to modern event-driven production systems.

We are looking for someone who understands the entire SDLC with a focus on mobile first application development and testing, as well as how to avoid common cross-platform pitfalls. You are comfortable with reading unfamiliar source code, prioritising and delivering outcomes.

How you contribute

• Robust coding practices including writing clean well structured code, automated tests, and managing source control.
• Strive to improve the code base. Deep understanding of why design and architectural tradeoffs are made.
• Ensuring product features are being delivered effectively as measured by lead time, deployment frequency, change failure percentage and mean time to resolution while minimising the number of bugs in production.
• Develop and support our cloud-native infrastructure in AWS.
• As part of the wider engineering team, you help shape the design and architecture the entire WeMoney ecosystem.

What you're bringing to the table

• You routinely read other engineers code and make recommendations on improvements and optimisations.
• You stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices and demonstrate a readiness to share your knowledge with others.
• You are security-minded and follow defensive coding practices.
• Experience managing software projects. You'll have the ability to own the delivery of complex features, break down requirements and provide reasonable estimates.
• You'll need to be comfortable with ambiguity, be resourceful to solve problems, and be able to adjust to shifting deadlines and project goals.
