Data Engineer

Next Ventures currently looking for data engineers and architects for a project with one of the main banks in the Netherlands. The focus will be defining the overall data strategy, architecture, and governance framework within Databricks, then build, automate, and maintain the data pipelines and infrastructure.

Responsibilities -

Architect:

• Lead the architecture and design of Databricks-based data and AI platforms.
• Define end-to-end Lakehouse blueprints including ingestion, transformation, governance, and consumption layers.
• Architect multi-cloud Databricks environments integrating with AWS, Azure, or GCP services.
• Develop and enforce data engineering standards, security, and performance best practices.
• Align Databricks solutions with strategic objectives and ROI goals.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Databricks engineers and data teams.

Engineers:

• Design and develop data pipelines using PySpark, Delta Lake, and Databricks Workflows.
• Optimize Databricks clusters, jobs, and notebooks for performance and cost efficiency.
• Build data quality and observability frameworks using Delta Live Tables, Unity Catalog, and MLflow.
• Contribute to DevOps and CI/CD automation for Databricks deployment

Experience -

• 3-5 years in Data Engineering or Architecture, with focus on Databricks
• Proficiency in PySpark, SQL & Delta Lake
• Understand on Lakehouse Concepts, Unity Catalog, Medallion Architecture, Data Modelling & Governance
• Experience integrating Databricks with Cloud#
