We are currently looking for a Bioinformatics Specialist to join our client, a well-established bioinformatics company specializing in genomic data analysis and clinical interpretation.

Founded in 2014, our client has developed a comprehensive platform for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data analysis, supporting the full workflow from raw data processing to clinical reporting. Their solutions are actively used across 350+ hospitals and laboratories in 20+ countries, contributing to the diagnosis of hundreds of thousands of patients worldwide.

As the team continues to grow, they are seeking a motivated junior professional who is eager to develop hands-on experience in bioinformatics within a real-world, production-driven environment.

Role Overview

As a Bioinformatics Specialist, you will be part of a collaborative research and development team, working on biological data analysis, pipeline development, and benchmarking activities.

You will contribute to ongoing research projects while gaining exposure to production-grade bioinformatics workflows. This role is ideal for early-career candidates who want to strengthen their technical skills while working closely with experienced bioinformaticians and software engineers.

Key Responsibilities

● Conduct research and analysis in emerging areas of bioinformatics

● Perform biological data analysis, visualization, and interpretation

● Actively participate in research projects, including data collection, analysis, code development, and reporting

● Collaborate with senior team members to support successful research outcomes

● Develop, optimize, and maintain bioinformatics pipelines

● Benchmark bioinformatics workflows to improve performance and accuracy

Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field

● Master’s or PhD degree is highly preferred

● Solid foundational understanding of bioinformatics concepts

● Hands-on experience with Python programming

Essential Skills

● Comfortable working in a Unix/Linux terminal environment

● Experience with Python, including object-oriented programming, unit testing, and CLI development

Nice to Have

● Familiarity with Git for version control and collaborative workflows

● Understanding of NGS data formats (FASTQ, BAM, VCF), alignment algorithms, and variant calling

● Experience with Docker for containerizing bioinformatics pipelines
