Data Modeller Freelance (12‑Month Contract) Poland (Remote/Hybrid)
A leading global financial services organisation is seeking an experienced Data Modeller to join a long‑term transformation programme. This is a 12‑month freelance contract with strong potential for extension. The role is based in Poland, with flexible remote or hybrid options depending on your preference.
About the Role
You’ll be part of a large‑scale data modernisation initiative within the banking and financial services sector. The programme focuses on building robust, scalable data models that support regulatory reporting, risk analytics, and enterprise‑wide data governance.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in complex data environments, enjoys collaborating with global teams, and has a strong understanding of financial industry data structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise‑level systems
- Collaborate with data architects, engineers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into high‑quality data structures
- Ensure data models align with data governance, metadata, and lineage standards
- Support the integration of models into cloud‑based and on‑premise data platforms
- Analyse existing data assets and recommend improvements to structure, quality, and consistency
- Contribute to documentation, modelling standards, and best practices
- Work within Agile delivery teams across multiple regions
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Data Modeller within large‑scale or enterprise environments
- Strong knowledge of data modelling methodologies (e.g., Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault)
- Hands‑on experience with modelling tools such as ER/Studio, ERwin, PowerDesigner, or similar
- Solid understanding of SQL, relational databases, and data warehousing concepts
- Experience working with cloud data platforms (Azure preferred; GCP or AWS also valuable)
- Familiarity with banking or financial services data (risk, finance, regulatory, payments, etc.)
- Ability to work with distributed teams and communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Exposure to big data ecosystems (Spark, Hadoop)
- Knowledge of data governance frameworks (Collibra, Informatica, etc.)
- Experience supporting regulatory or risk‑related data initiatives
