About the role
As a ProductDesigner on Breville's Global Solutions team,you'll be working on solving real-life problems that can help everyone in the kitchen cook smarter. You'll work on connected experiences that seamlessly blendapps, appliances, and contentin a domain that is wide open for innovation. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of experts from many backgrounds, from Michelin-starred chefs to mathematicians and engineers.
Located in Seattle's Public Market alongside the ChefSteps Studio Kitchen and Baratza's coffee grinder headquarters, the Breville office is rapidly growing its technology team. You'll help drive the growth and culture of the office, where the team is empowered to do their best work, using their expertise to create and rapidly ship software.
What you'll do
- Work within a product team focused on major customer-facing features with the ability to provide background and rationale for your decisions.
- Collaborate with product management teams to outline key features and how they balance the needs of the customer with the expectations of the company.
- Work with other talented product designers to support their growth and development while also learning from each other through giving and receiving feedback and critique.
- Collaborate with data scientists and user researchers to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of your work.
- Work efficiently on multiple projects in order to deliver new features, bug fixes on existing features, and small improvements in response to customer needs and feature requests.
- Design interactions for new features, applying existing design patterns and creating new ones, across our platforms.
Build and prototype what you design using a variety of industry-standard software.
What you'll need
- Over 3 years of professional design experience. The work you have done and how you've done it is more important to us than the years of experience.
- Deep expertise across all facets of human-centered design and user experience, spanning UX strategy, experience / interaction design, user research / assessment, prototyping, visual design, and user adoption.
- Ability to communicate conceptual ideas, design details, and rationale both verbally and visually.
- Experience working in product development, driving design from planning to release.
- Experience designing for iOS, Android, and connected products.
- Experience working closely with developers to iterate to a point of function- ality then to a point of pixel perfection.
- Demonstrated visual design skill, especially in the construction of visual hierarchies on layouts, and attention to detail on typography, spacing, and colors.
- On top of the latest digital trends and process methodologies.
- Comfort with common front-end / UI technologies with an interest to learn more.
- Experience with Figma and prototyping tools a plus.On top of the latest digital trends and process methodologies.

- Proficiency with Figma and prototyping tools like Protopie is a plus.
