A respected and mission-driven institution is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join their Information Technology team. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to manage and enhance a complex and high-availability network infrastructure supporting voice, data, video, and wireless services.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining network stability, supporting security initiatives, and contributing to long-term architectural planning. You’ll collaborate closely with internal IT teams, external vendors, and leadership to ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability of the network environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain LAN/WAN and wireless networks.
• Manage Cisco/Meraki switches, access points, and security appliances.
• Monitor and troubleshoot network performance and availability.
• Support the development of a Network Operations Center (NOC).
• Maintain detailed network documentation, procedures, and service records.
• Serve as a senior escalation point for IT infrastructure and support teams.
• Work closely with vendors and stakeholders to evaluate and deploy new technologies.
• Promote and implement information security best practices.
• Provide timely updates and reporting on incidents, projects, and service performance.
• Contribute to training plans, policies, and operational improvements.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in network management and engineering.
• Strong background with Cisco networking (including Meraki), routing/switching, and network security.
• Hands-on experience with DNS, DHCP, VPNs, VLANs, QoS, ACLs, OSPF, BGP, and TCP/IP protocols.
• Experience in designing and maintaining enterprise or campus-scale networks.
• Proficient in network documentation tools (e.g., Visio).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Experience working in Linux/UNIX environments a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
