Software Engineer

Salt is currently hiring a Software Engineer for our client in Amsterdam.

The role is a contract/freelance role until the end of the year. It is remote so candidates within the EU may apply should you have a B2B.

Overview

We are looking for a Software Engineer II to design, build, and operate reliable software systems in a production environment. You will deliver high-quality code, contribute to system design, and take ownership of services from development through production support.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain scalable software applications.
• Write clean, reusable code and refactor existing systems when needed.
• Own services end to end, including deployment, monitoring, and production operations.
• Debug and resolve production issues, perform root cause analysis, and improve system reliability.
• Build and improve automation, infrastructure, and operational tooling.
• Monitor system health and maintain documentation (runbooks/playbooks).
• Collaborate with internal teams and customers while meeting SLAs.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and continuous improvement initiatives.
