What project we have for you
Our client, a leading software and services provider for communications and media companies, is establishing the Support and Maintenance team for newly launched project in Ukraine, so looking for strong and motivated support personnel with experience in operating high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications and frameworks (On-prem OpenShift, Kubernetes, HBase, Kafka). You will be part of a talented software engineering team that is servicing the next generation of our product using micro services technology stack.
Take responsibility on operations and support of Production BSS (Telecom Billing, rating, ordering, PCRF, network provisioning, IVR, Product catalog and API) IT project in ensuring the Maintenance and services operations SLA. Ensure solution meets customer business and technical needs by leveraging out clients IT assets and best practices while considering IT strategic goals.
What you will do
In one sentence:
- The DevOps engineer is responsible for carrying out day to day applicative infrastructure management supporting production activities.
Responsibilities:
- 24/7 support of production Infrastructure services to ensure the highest standards of availability, resilience, integrity, security and performance required by our business systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement DevOps practices that streamline software delivery and infrastructure management.
- Build, maintain, and scale automated deployment pipelines for various applications, ensuring efficient and error-free code deployments.
- Monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and security in both production and development environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, implementing proactive measures to prevent future occurrences.
- Develop and maintain scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks, enhancing efficiency and reducing errors.
- Manage containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) for seamless application deployment and scaling.
- Work closely with development teams to integrate continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices and facilitate automated testing.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide timely incident response and resolution.
What you need for this
Critical Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Python or Bash.
- Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with DBA tasks of PostgreSQL, HBase, or Couchbase databases
- Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, ELK stack, Grafana).
- Willing to work in shifts and weekend support model.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments.
- Must have the ability to see the full End to End picture, including impact on the customer.
Will be a plus:
- Familiarity with Business Support System (BSS).
