Role Description:
Atlas team are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer will responsible for design, develop, and validate mechanical components and lightweight structures. The role involves performing engineering analysis and simulations (FEA), supporting prototyping and production, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Riga, Latvia.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and test all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery.Develop lightweight, manufacturable airframes and mechanisms optimized for flight.Design plastic parts for manufacturing processes like injection molding, CNC, 3D printing.Apply principles of mechanical engineering to design products using Solidworks CAD software.Conduct analysis and simulations (Finite Element Analysis - FEA) to validate designs.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineering, manufacturing, and project management.Develop and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM).Support the prototyping and testing of new products and modifications to existing designs.Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.Support manufacturing processes and troubleshoot production issues.
Required skills:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution. A Master's degree is preferred.3+ years of professional experience in mechanical engineering or a related field.Proven track record of successfully bringing a product from concept through to production.Experience working in Manufacturing, Aerospace, Automotive, Robotics.Solid understanding of: Mechanics of materials, Structural dynamics & vibration, Lightweight structures, Plastics.
Technical skills:
Proficiency in 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software Solidworks.Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles (statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials science).Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).Familiarity with various manufacturing processes like machining, casting, injection molding, welding.Ability to interpret and create technical drawings following relevant drafting standards.Experience in material selection and specification for mechanical applications.
