Cyber Security Specialist for Platform Services

Do you enjoy staying one step ahead of threats and safeguarding complex IT platforms? In this role, you will help secure a large-scale, business-critical infrastructure landscape with high availability and security requirements. You will focus on protecting server, database, virtualization, and cloud platforms by designing robust security architectures and ensuring the secure, stable operation of core systems in a dynamic enterprise environment.

You will act as a key security expert within Platform Services, closely collaborating with infrastructure, cyber security, and business teams. A central part of your role is the continuous identification of vulnerabilities through scanning, assessment, and analysis, followed by the definition and execution of effective hardening measures. You proactively evaluate cyber risks, translate security requirements into practical controls, and continuously improve protection mechanisms. In addition, you create and maintain security concepts, standards, and guidelines, and serve as a technical advisor for infrastructure-related information security topics.

To thrive in this position, you bring several years of experience in enterprise infrastructure or technical cyber security roles. You have strong hands-on expertise in securing and hardening Microsoft and Linux environments, databases, virtualization and container platforms such as VMware, Kubernetes, or similar technologies, as well as cloud and Microsoft 365 environments. Strong knowledge of vulnerability management, security frameworks and standards (e.g. ISO/IEC 270xx, NIST), and risk management is essential; experience in offensive security, security assessments, or penetration testing is a strong plus. You combine analytical thinking with a pragmatic, hands-on mindset, work confidently in agile environments, and communicate clearly in German and English.
