Workday HCM Specialist

A major HR transformation programme is underway, and an experienced Workday HCM Specialist is required to support a critical phase of delivery. This is a key leadership opportunity for a Workday expert to step in, drive clarity across the programme, and uplift capability within both the internal team and delivery partner.

The Programme

The organisation is progressing through its Workday HCM implementation and has commenced its system integration testing cycles.

There is a need to stabilise the Workday HCM workstream, ensure visibility of outstanding scope, address downstream impacts from missing requirements, and improve cohesion between Business Analysts, functional specialists, and the external consulting partner.

The Role

As the Workday HCM Specialist, you will act as the programme’s senior Workday SME, providing both leadership and hands‑on functional expertise. You will:

• Drive alignment across the Workday HCM stream, ensuring requirements, design, and testing activities are clearly understood and delivered.
• Work closely with internal Business Analysts and functional specialists, bridging knowledge gaps and supporting high‑quality outputs.
• Partner effectively with the external consulting team to maintain consistency, accountability, and shared ownership of outcomes.
• Provide clear reporting on outstanding tasks, risks, dependencies, and downstream impacts.
• Serve as an escalation point, enabling senior leadership to step back from day‑to‑day detail.
• Maintain momentum across testing cycles and assist with planning for an extended delivery timeline.

About You

• You will be a seasoned Workday HCM leader with:
• Significant experience delivering Workday HCM implementations in complex environments
• Deep functional understanding across core HCM modules
• Proven leadership ability, with the skills to guide, influence, and uplift capability in cross‑functional teams
• Strong stakeholder engagement experience, working with both internal teams and consulting partners
• A structured, proactive, and pragmatic approach, capable of navigating changing requirements and delivery pressures
• Experience with the Workday Recruitment module will be highly regarded
