My client is the modern way to run data-guided operations. AI turns terabytes of retail data into personalized priorities for each field and store leader. Smart workflows guide effective action and business impact is measured to embed learnings across the organization. Many of the world’s leading retailers are using to improve the productivity of their store operations. $100bn of activity is managed through our company across +25,000 stores and +90 use cases.

My client is steadily growing its client base, which means they need to manage more setups. Each client has their own setup, so more clients mean more setups, and each setup might have issues. The platform mainly relies on data imports that happen once a week, usually on Sundays or Mondays. The new role is creating for helping to manage these tasks.

Major Clients:

US:

• Dollar General: One of the largest chains of small grocery stores in the US, with over 20,000 stores.
• Tractor Supply: A retailer specializing in products for farmers and rural areas.
• PetSmart: A chain of stores selling pet products.

UK: Two clients — one permanently signed, and the other in a pilot phase.

Europe: They are looking into expanding into retail stores at airports.

Communication and Career Growth:

• One-on-one meetings with each engineer every 2 months (or more often if needed).
• Annual reviews.
• Opportunities for career growth based on the responsibilities the engineer is ready to take on.
• The company has team events every six months, usually in London.

Requirements

• Combination of Ruby / Ruby on Rails and some DevOps to manage the environment where the project runs.
• Front-end knowledge is a plus, as it helps in checking errors.
• Experience with Kubernetes - good understanding is required.
• Knowledge of Azure (90%) and some experience with AWS (Amazon).
• Strong experience with SQL, as the platform handles a lot of data

Responsibilities

• Building API endpoints.
• Monitoring tools and performance improvement of endpoints.
• Improving the performance of different endpoints, especially handling database queries.
• Combination of following guides for typical issues.
• Managing the documentation.

Recruitment Process

• Initial screening by Alor (30 minutes)
• Extended screening (1 hour and 15 minutes): discussing experience and challenges in details, but as well a practical session
• Pair programming interview (2 hours): working together on the task, a candidate is leading, but still can communicate with team member
• Follow-up chats (2 per 30 minutes each, scheduled separately)
