Elisa has developed its own network automation software for over 15 years and today operates one of the most automated telecom networks in the industry. We are now taking the next step: moving from advanced automation toward truly autonomous networks. In the Autonomous Network Operations team, you will work at the core of this transition, building adaptive, self-managing capabilities that turn large-scale telecom networks into systems that can observe, decide, and improve continuously.
We are looking for Software Developer to join our Autonomous Network Operations team!
Based on your background, you may be considered for either Software Developer or Senior Software Developer position. What matters most is your enthusiasm to expand your skills and willingness to learn.
Business area and the team
Our team is building a state-of-the-art tools to automate network planning. We are part of a bigger autonomous network operations program, which aims to make Elisa’s networks fully autonomous in the future.
The team consists of professionals combining the best talents from network domain experts and software professionals. We follow agile development practices and are constantly improving our ways of working. We also keep the quality up, our code fresh and the technical debt very low by doing i.e. refactoring constantly.
Technologies
We’re working with modern software tools and DevOps practices. Our system is based on event-driven microservices architecture using Warpstream Kafka and Neo4j graph database. It’s written mostly with Kotlin, along with some Golang and runs on cloud platform utilizing Kubernetes.
We do require that you have experience in some JVM based language and the more you know of the other technologies listed below the better. But most importantly – you are eager to learn new things by working as part of the team.
We do not require network expertise in your skillset, but this is a great learning opportunity in the world of networking and network automation.

Things we especially value
- Strong experience with a JVM-based programming language, preferably Kotlin
- Good knowledge of TypeScript and React
- Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging systems (e.g., Kafka)
- Experience working in public cloud environments, especially Google Cloud Platform
- Familiarity with Kubernetes
- Ability to use AI tools in development (e.g., GitHub Copilot)
- Experience developing software using agile or lean principles
- Knowledge of Vertex AI
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience with Terraform
- Understanding of graph databases (e.g., Neo4j)
- Familiarity with Golang
- Networking knowledge, such as IP/MPLS domain
- Interest in improving team practices and development processes
- Ability to communicate in Finnish
