Artificial Intelligence Engineer

For one of our banking clients we are seeking a skilled AI Engineer to lead the integration and implementation of Model Context Protocol (MCP)—an open-source standard designed to enable AI systems to interact dynamically with live external data and tools. This role will play a critical part in shaping next-generation agentic AI systems, focusing on real-time data interaction, standardization, and tool orchestration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain MCP integrations that enable AI models to interact with external APIs, databases, CRMs, and live data sources.
• Design and implement systems using the MCP server-client model, exposing external tools and services in a standardized, accessible format.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support autonomous AI agents that utilize MCP for task execution, such as booking services, managing workflows, or querying live systems.
• Establish scalable architecture that allows AI applications to dynamically expand beyond their static training data through real-time interaction.
• Differentiate and optimize system capabilities in contrast to traditional approaches like Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Ensure robust security, privacy, and compliance measures in all protocol-based data interactions.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Strong software engineering background with experience in API design, microservices, or middleware systems.
• Familiarity with AI/ML model deployment and integration, especially in environments requiring real-time data access.
• Experience with agentic AI systems or autonomous agents that require external tool use.
• Proficiency in languages such as Python, Go, or Node.js, and experience working with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Strong understanding of data protocols, system architecture, and inter-service communication.
• Experience with open-source contributions or standards development is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3–7 years of experience in AI system integration, software engineering, or similar domains.
• Prior exposure to Model Context Protocol (MCP) or comparable standards is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of API ecosystems (REST, GraphQL, gRPC) and data formats (JSON, Protobuf).
